This story reflects one contractor's experience during that pilot, shared to show how the Controller app and audit trail work at a real street lot.
A notebook, a cash box, and a guess.
Before the pilot, Vikram's lot ran the way most contractor lots in Hazrat Ganj do — a paper ticket at entry, cash at exit, and a notebook tally at the end of the shift.
Before the pilot
- × Paper tickets occasionally went missing, leaving no record of when a vehicle entered.
- × End-of-shift cash didn't always match the number of vehicles that had actually parked.
- × Disputes over parking duration came down to whoever argued harder at the gate.
- × Vikram had no way to check how the lot was doing without being there in person.
During the pilot
- ✓ Vehicles scan a QR code at entry; staff can also log a plate manually if needed.
- ✓ Every entry, exit, payment method, and amount is logged automatically in the audit trail.
- ✓ Both cash and UPI are accepted and recorded — no mandate to go cashless.
- ✓ Vikram checks the revenue dashboard from his own phone, without visiting the lot.

Regulars keep their vehicle saved and scan the same QR code each visit — no paper ticket to hand over or lose.
For the gate staff
Scan QR or plate, mark the session paid by cash or UPI, and close it out at exit — the same app used across the zone.
For Vikram
A running log of every session, so end-of-shift reconciliation is a read, not a recount.
